  • Machine guns (M2 .50-cal, MK-19, or M240B) are integrated where authorized.

Scoring rules (recorded on DA Form 7541-1-9):

  • Each engagement is timed using the target exposure matrix (Appendix A of TC 3-22.32).
  • Maximum 100 points per engagement.
  • Crew cuts (major = –30 points; minor = –5 points) for errors like improper fire commands, failure to use ATT correctly, safety violations, or missing battle damage assessment.
  • Friendly/noncombatant hits = 0 points + crew cut.
  • 50-second exposure limit per target; failure to engage in time = 0 points.
  • Day and night scores added together.

Minimum proficiency to advance to Table 10:

  • 700 out of 1,000 total points.
  • At least 70 points on 7 of 10 tasks/engagements.
  • Successful engagement of required target types (including ATT use).

Refires are allowed only for failed tasks (69 points or lower), with the highest possible rating on refire being “Qualified.”
